Vice-President Addresses First Convocation of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University

In a momentous event marking the first convocation of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Vice-President of India, Smt. Anandiben Patel, delivered an inspiring address highlighting the significance of education and the legacy of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, a noted patriot and freedom fighter.

The Vice-President commended Governor Anandiben Patel for her unwavering commitment to education and praised the university for its impressive progress since its establishment three years ago. She emphasized the importance of nurturing a culture of environmental consciousness, urging students and faculty to plant trees in honor of their mothers, reinforcing the need for sustainable practices in light of climate change.

Congratulating the graduates, she declared that their high academic qualifications would contribute significantly to India’s growth story. “You are the future leaders and creators of positive change,” she stated, encouraging the graduates to embrace their roles in shaping a developed Bharat by 2047.

Addressing the need for historical awareness, the Vice-President underscored the importance of recognizing unsung heroes of the freedom struggle, such as Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh. She lamented that many of these stories have been overlooked in textbooks and urged the next generation of historians to ensure these contributions are remembered and celebrated.

The Vice-President further highlighted the crucial role of education in driving technological advancements and economic growth. She called on industries to invest in India’s educational ecosystem, stressing that education should not become a commodity but rather remain a transformative force in society.

In closing, she encouraged the graduating class to be strong-willed and resilient in the face of challenges, drawing inspiration from the teachings of historical figures like Chanakya and Swami Vivekananda. “Self-realization cannot be achieved by the weak-willed,” she reminded them, emphasizing the importance of commitment and earnestness in their endeavors.
