Thieves Steal Gold and Silver Ornaments Worth Over ₹10 Lakh from Durga Puja Pandal in Jajpur

In a shocking incident, gold and silver ornaments valued at over ₹10 lakh were stolen from a Durga Puja pandal at Barundei temple in Jajpur district’s Korei police station area. The theft occurred in the early hours of Saturday, according to local authorities.
The ornaments, including a crown, necklace, trident, earrings, and nose rings belonging to Goddess Durga and other deities, were discovered missing around 3 am when the priests and puja committee members arrived at the temple. They found the main gate left open and immediately reported the incident to the police.
Police said the theft likely took place around 2 am, as per the complaint filed at Korei police station. An investigation has been launched to identify the culprits and recover the stolen items. Security around the temple has been heightened as part of the probe.
