Telangana Seeks Financial Aid and Loan Restructuring from Centre
Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday to request financial support and loan restructuring for the state.
During the meeting, Vikramarka sought assistance in settling pending dues as per the state reorganisation Act and requested the rescheduling of non-budgetary loans taken by the previous government. He also asked for a reduction in interest rates on these loans.
“I outlined the state’s current financial challenges and emphasized the need for support,” Vikramarka said to reporters. He also reminded the Union minister about the release of funds for centrally-sponsored schemes and pending allocations under the reorganisation Act.
The meeting highlights Telangana’s ongoing efforts to address financial pressures and secure necessary funds to support its development initiatives.
