Chandigarh University’s Tech Invent 2024 Sparks Innovation Among Students
Chandigarh University inaugurated its annual tech fest, Tech Invent 2024, on Friday, featuring the Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya as the chief guest. The event has attracted nearly 20,000 participants from over 1,500 top-ranked universities, including IITs, NITs, and IIMs, showcasing India’s youth-driven innovation across various fields.
During his address, Governor Dattatraya emphasized the significance of such tech festivals in fostering interaction and collaboration among students. He highlighted the government’s commitment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to harness technological advancements across sectors, promoting innovation and employment opportunities.
Chandigarh University Chancellor and Rajya Sabha Member Satnam Singh Sandhu echoed these sentiments, stating that the university aims to support at least 10 startups emerging from the fest. He emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities in shaping students’ futures, pledging to enhance the university’s programs in this area.
The tech fest features over 55 competitions and workshops, with prizes worth Rs 10 lakh up for grabs. Notable events include Circuit Scramble, CodeForge2024, Robo War, and an E-Combat gaming competition. The inaugural day also showcased star performances by artists like Shirley Setia and Parmish Verma, culminating in a vibrant cultural extravaganza.
Sandhu reiterated the university’s mission to transform innovative ideas into tangible projects, stressing that collaboration with leading global brands is a testament to Chandigarh University’s growing reputation. He also mentioned the government’s initiative to provide internships to 2 crore youth, aiming for a developed nation by 2047.
