Tanvi Sharma, Tharun Mannepalli Reach Odisha Masters Finals

Indian shuttlers Tanvi Sharma and Tharun Mannepalli showcased stellar performances to secure their spots in the finals of the Odisha Masters Super 100 badminton tournament on Saturday.

Fifteen-year-old Tanvi, fresh from her Bonn International title win, edged out compatriot Shriyanshi Valishetty in a nail-biting women’s singles semifinal with a score of 21-19, 21-19. She now prepares to take on Chinese qualifier Cai Yan Yan, who recently clinched the Guwahati Masters title.

In the men’s singles, Tharun Mannepalli, runner-up at the Senior National Championships, delivered a stunning comeback against sixth-seed Sathish Kumar Karunakaran. After losing the first set 12-21, Tharun rallied to win the next two sets 21-19, 21-12, securing his place in the final.

Both players are poised to battle for their maiden Super 100 crowns in Sunday’s finals, carrying high hopes for Indian badminton.
