Supreme Court Grants Bail to Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt in Cheating Case

The Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to filmmaker Vikram Bhatt in a multi-crore cheating case registered in Rajasthan.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant, along with Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi, passed the order. The top court also regularised the interim bail granted on February 13 to Bhatt’s wife, Shwetambari Bhatt, in connection with the same case.

Earlier, on January 31, the Rajasthan High Court had rejected the couple’s bail pleas in the alleged cheating matter.

The case pertains to allegations of financial irregularities involving a multi-crore amount. With the Supreme Court’s order, both Bhatt and his wife have secured relief in the matter, while further proceedings in the case will continue as per law.
