Sony Predicts India to Surpass Japan as Third Largest Market Globally
Sony, the Japanese consumer electronics giant, forecasts that India will soon surpass its home market and become the company’s third largest market globally within the next two years. Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director of Sony India, highlighted expectations that India’s revenue could reach Rs 10,000 crore, driving this significant shift.
In the fiscal year 2022-23, Sony India reported revenues amounting to Rs 6,353 crore. Nayyar emphasized that the company’s strategy focuses on leveraging growth in premium television sales alongside robust performance in audio and imaging products.
“India’s potential as a market is immense, and we anticipate substantial growth driven by our premium television offerings and expanding audio and imaging segments,” Nayyar remarked.
