Skill Ministry Partners with Meta to Launch AI Assistant for Skill India Mission

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has announced a strategic partnership with Meta to launch an AI Assistant aimed at enhancing the Skill India Mission. The initiative includes the establishment of five Centres of Excellence focused on virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR).

The collaboration will feature the development of an innovative AI-powered chatbot, utilizing Meta’s open-source Llama model, designed to improve the learning experience on the Skill India Digital (SID) Portal. This chatbot will serve as a resource for learners, providing them with personalized guidance and support in their skill development journey.

In addition to the chatbot, five Centres of Excellence will be set up at National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) located in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jodhpur, Chennai, and Kanpur. These centres will be equipped with the latest VR technology, allowing learners and instructors to engage in immersive and safe learning experiences. This innovative approach aims to enhance existing skills while introducing learners to cutting-edge technologies in a practical setting.

The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to advancing skill development in India, making learning more accessible and effective through technology integration. The partnership with Meta marks a significant step towards modernizing skill training and ensuring that learners are well-equipped for the demands of the evolving job market.
