Six Arrested in Odisha OTET Leak

Six Arrested in Odisha Teacher Recruitment Exam Paper Leak
In a major development, Odisha police on Wednesday arrested six individuals from various districts in connection with the leak of the question paper for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET)-2025, scheduled for July 20.
According to police, a handwritten version of the exam paper along with answers went viral on social media on July 19, just a day before the scheduled test. The leaked content was later confirmed to be an exact replica of the official question paper prepared by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.
DGP (CID-Crime Branch) Vinaytosh Mishra said, “A thorough investigation revealed that the paper leak was genuine, and those arrested played key roles in its circulation and possible sale.”
The arrests were made following raids in different parts of the state after digital evidence and leads pointed to a coordinated effort to compromise the exam’s integrity. Authorities are continuing the probe to uncover the full extent of the leak and any involvement of officials or coaching centres.
The incident has triggered widespread concern among aspirants and raised serious questions about the security measures in place for competitive examinations in the state. The BSE has not yet announced a new date for the OTET-2025 exam.
