Jual Oram Takes Charge of Tribal Affairs Ministry
NEW DELHI: Shri Jual Oram has taken charge as the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, marking his return to the ministry with a pledge for comprehensive development of tribal communities nationwide. Welcomed by Secretary Shri Vibhu Nayar and senior officials, Shri Oram expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve.
Highlighting the ministry’s achievements under PM Modi’s leadership over the past decade, Shri Oram emphasized his commitment to furthering the 360° development of tribal populations. In his first meeting with ministry officials, he directed rigorous efforts to ensure holistic progress across all tribal welfare programs and schemes.
A veteran parliamentarian, Shri Oram has represented the Sundargarh constituency in multiple Lok Sabhas since 1998. Notably, he was sworn in as the first Union Minister for Tribal Affairs in October 1999 under Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s administration.
Shri Oram’s return to helm the Ministry for Tribal Affairs signals renewed focus on enhancing the socio-economic status and empowerment of tribal communities across India.
