Rs 40 Lakh Cash Seized During Raids in Odisha
Odisha Police and vigilance teams seized over ₹40 lakh in cash during multiple raids in the state on Monday, targeting illegal activities at different locations, officials said.
In Bhadrak district, police raided a suspected drug peddler’s house and recovered approximately ₹25 lakh in cash along with a quantity of brown sugar. The raid was conducted in the presence of an executive magistrate.
“A woman has been detained for questioning, and further investigation is underway,” said SP Madkar Sandeep Sampat.
Simultaneously, ₹15 lakh in cash was seized from a property registration office in another part of the state. The vigilance department is examining records to determine the source of the cash and potential links to corruption.
The raids are part of a broader crackdown on illegal financial transactions in Odisha.
