Rayagada Railway Division to Boost South Odisha’s Development: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar:The newly announced Rayagada Railway Division is set to revolutionize South Odisha’s infrastructure and economic landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated during the foundation stone-laying ceremony conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. The foundation stone was laid virtually by the Prime Minister.

Highlighting the division’s significance, CM Majhi emphasized its potential to enhance railway connectivity, generate employment, and foster economic growth in the region. “This division will not only improve transportation but also attract significant industrial investments,” he said.

A modern office for the Rayagada Railway Division is already underway, with a project cost of ₹107 crores, complemented by enhanced road connectivity to streamline transportation and logistics.

Rayagada’s strategic importance is underscored by its abundant mineral resources and thriving industries. The district hosts major projects such as Utkal Alumina and Aditya Alumina Refinery in Kashipur, alongside notable establishments like IMFA, JK Paper Mills, and the HPCL Gas Bottling Plant.

“With the development of this division, Rayagada is poised to emerge as a major industrial hub,” CM Majhi remarked, highlighting the government’s commitment to unlocking the region’s potential.

The Rayagada Railway Division is expected to play a pivotal role in bridging developmental gaps, fostering industrialization, and improving connectivity across South Odisha.
