Rajkummar Rao Wants to Relive ‘Stree 2’ Success, First Film Break

Actor Rajkummar Rao says he would love to revisit the key moments that shaped his journey in Bollywood—particularly the success of Stree 2 and landing his debut film Love Sex Aur Dhokha.

At the trailer launch of his upcoming film Bhool Chuk Maaf, where he plays a groom stuck in a time loop, Rao opened up about the milestones that hold special meaning for him.

“From my career, as an outsider, when you come to the city, it can be overwhelming; it is very tough. I know a lot of actor friends who’ve come to the city, and not everyone gets that opportunity. So, getting that first film is important for any actor who has come from outside. This happened to me in 2010,” Rao shared with reporters.

Reflecting on his decade-long journey, the National Award-winning actor also mentioned Stree 2, the horror-comedy that turned out to be a massive box office hit. “To see the kind of love Stree 2 received was very special,” he added.

Bhool Chuk Maaf, which blends romance, comedy, and fantasy, marks another quirky addition to Rao’s diverse filmography. Known for his roles in content-driven cinema, Rao continues to explore offbeat and experimental scripts, striking a balance between mainstream and meaningful.
