President Murmu to visit Odisha, Chhattisgarh from Feb 2–7

President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu will undertake a week-long visit to Odisha and Chhattisgarh from February 2 to 7, 2026, engaging with students, tribal communities, and attending key cultural and developmental events.

The President will arrive in Bhubaneswar on the evening of February 2. On February 3, she will grace the convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University at Balasore and inaugurate its newly constructed auditorium.

On February 4, President Murmu will unveil the statue of Bhanjbir Sunaram Soren and interact with students at the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mahuldiha, Rairangpur. She will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several projects, including the Government Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, OUAT Campus, Archery Centre, city beautification and drainage projects, CSR initiatives, and the MSCB University Information Technology Campus at Rairangpur.

On February 6, the President will interact with women and youth of tribal communities at Simlipal and attend the ‘Black Swan Summit, India’ in Bhubaneswar, organised by the Odisha Government in collaboration with the Global Finance and Technology Network.

The visit will conclude on February 7 with President Murmu inaugurating the ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’ festival in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, celebrating the region’s rich cultural heritage.
