President Murmu Begins Two-Day Odisha Visit

President Murmu to Visit Odisha on July 14 for Two-Day Tour
President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day visit to Odisha starting July 14, during which she will participate in several key academic and cultural events, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
As part of her itinerary, President Murmu will attend the convocation ceremonies of two prestigious institutions—AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Ravenshaw University in Cuttack. The President, who hails from Odisha, will also lay the foundation stone for a series of developmental projects at Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, reaffirming her commitment to education and women’s empowerment.
In a significant cultural engagement, President Murmu will visit Sarla Bhavan in Cuttack to mark the 600th birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das, one of Odisha’s most revered literary figures. On the occasion, she will present the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award 2024, an honor bestowed upon individuals for exceptional contributions to literature, culture, and public service.
Security has been tightened ahead of her arrival, and preparations are underway at all venues to ensure the smooth conduct of the President’s engagements. This will be President Murmu’s latest visit to her home state since assuming office in July 2022, and it is expected to draw significant attention from the public and academic communities alike.
Officials stated that the visit reflects the President’s continued interest in promoting Odisha’s educational and cultural institutions on the national stage.
