President Droupadi Murmu Begins Two-Day Visit to Odisha, to Attend Convocations in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack

President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day official visit to her home state Odisha starting Monday, during which she will attend the convocation ceremonies of two prestigious institutions—AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Ravenshaw University in Cuttack.

According to officials, the President will arrive in Bhubaneswar on Monday afternoon and proceed to attend the 5th convocation ceremony of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar in the evening. She is expected to deliver the convocation address and felicitate meritorious students during the event.

On Tuesday, President Murmu will travel to Cuttack to participate in the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University, one of Odisha’s oldest and most revered educational institutions. She will confer honorary doctorate degrees on distinguished personalities who have made significant contributions in various fields including education, literature, and public service.

The twin convocation events highlight President Murmu’s continued engagement with academic institutions and her commitment to promoting excellence in education and nation-building.

This is President Murmu’s latest visit to Odisha since assuming office in July 2022, and her itinerary reflects a strong focus on education and empowerment, particularly for the youth.

Security arrangements have been tightened in both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in view of the high-profile visit, with special measures in place to ensure smooth conduct of the events. Authorities have also issued traffic advisories for areas near the convocation venues.
