Preity Zinta Denies Entering Indian Politics

Preity Zinta Clarifies: No Plans to Enter Politics
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has addressed recent speculation about her potential entry into politics, firmly stating she has no such intentions. The rumors were fueled by her recent visits to the Maha Kumbh Mela and Varanasi’s Kashi Vishwanath temple. However, during an “Ask Me Anything” session on X (formerly Twitter), Zinta clarified that these visits were personal and spiritual, not political.
Responding to a user’s question about joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Zinta expressed frustration over assumptions made based on her religious activities. She emphasized that attending religious events and expressing pride in her identity should not be misconstrued as political aspirations. Zinta also shared that living abroad has deepened her appreciation for India and her cultural roots.India Today+1The Economic Times+1
In a subsequent post, Zinta apologized if her response seemed abrupt, explaining that she often faces criticism for her choices being politicized. She mentioned her efforts to raise her children with an understanding of their Indian heritage, despite her husband’s agnostic beliefs. Zinta concluded by expressing a desire to move past the controversy and focus on her personal life and upcoming projects.India Today+2The Economic Times+2Hindustan Times+2
