Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has emphasized that the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), to be held in Bhubaneswar from January 8-10, is a golden opportunity to present the state’s rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality to a global audience.

Speaking on Tuesday after launching the event’s official website in Delhi alongside External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the event. “Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a platform to connect with our diaspora and showcase Odisha’s vibrant culture, traditions, and progressive strides to the world,” Majhi said.

Grand Celebrations Planned

The 18th edition of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is expected to draw around 7,000 delegates, including distinguished members of the Indian diaspora, global business leaders, and dignitaries. Odisha will seize this occasion to highlight its growing prominence as an investment and tourism destination. From its ancient temples and tribal art to its modern infrastructure and industrial growth, the state aims to impress upon visitors its blend of tradition and modernity.

The CM also expressed confidence that the event would strengthen ties with the diaspora and attract more opportunities for the state. “This is not just an event; it’s a celebration of our shared identity and a bridge to future collaborations,” he remarked.
