Polish Cinema Film Screenings at IIC

Film Screenings at IIC to Celebrate Polish Cinema from Monday
Polish cinema will take centre stage in the capital as the India International Centre (IIC), in collaboration with the Polish Institute, kicks off a special film screening series from Monday, celebrating the artistic and cultural legacy of Poland through film.
The curated programme will feature four acclaimed feature films by renowned Polish directors, alongside two documentaries that spotlight the lives of significant Polish figures with deep historical ties to India — the painter Stefan Norblin and the theosophist Wanda Dynowska.
The initiative aims to offer Indian audiences a glimpse into Poland’s cinematic richness and its long-standing cultural connections with India.
“Polish cinema has long been a mirror to our nation’s soul—rich in history, artistry, and human depth,” said Małgorzata Wejsis-Gołębiak, Director of the Polish Institute in New Delhi. “We are proud to bring these powerful stories to Indian audiences, celebrating the enduring legacy of Polish filmmakers and the unique ties between our cultures.”
The screenings promise a compelling mix of storytelling, historical exploration, and artistic expression, providing viewers a rare opportunity to experience Poland’s film heritage on the Indian screen.
The event is open to the public and is expected to draw film enthusiasts, students, and cultural connoisseurs alike.
