Bhubaneswar, September 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a one-day visit to Odisha on September 17, during which he will launch the much-anticipated ‘Subhadra’ Yojana and lay the foundation stone for various railway and national highway projects. The state government has hailed these projects as a major boost to Odisha’s development.

The centerpiece of the visit is the unveiling of the ‘Subhadra’ Yojana, a women-centric financial assistance scheme aimed at supporting over one crore women across the state. The scheme targets eligible women between the ages of 21 and 60 years, offering them a financial package of ₹50,000 over five years, from 2024-25 to 2028-29. Beneficiaries will receive ₹10,000 annually, disbursed in two equal instalments, directly into their Aadhaar and DBT-enabled bank accounts.

On the day of the launch, PM Modi will initiate the transfer of funds to more than 10 lakh women, marking the commencement of this landmark scheme.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate railway projects worth ₹2,800 crore, enhancing connectivity and transportation infrastructure in the state. These projects are expected to drive economic growth and improve ease of travel for the people of Odisha.

The launch event will take place at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, where PM Modi is expected to address the gathering and share his vision for Odisha’s future.

This visit underscores the central government’s focus on empowering women and fostering infrastructural development in Odisha, aligning with the broader national agenda of inclusive growth and regional development.
