PM Modi to Launch Projects Worth Over ₹2 Lakh Crore in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha
To Inaugurate First Green Hydrogen Hub and Host Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on January 8-9, 2025, focusing on sustainable development, industrial growth, and strengthening ties with the Indian diaspora.
Planned Announcements in Andhra Pradesh
On January 8, at Visakhapatnam, PM Modi will dedicate, inaugurate, and lay the foundation stone of various projects totaling over ₹2 Lakh Crore.
- Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for India’s first Green Hydrogen Hub by NTPC Green Energy Limited at Pudimadaka, Visakhapatnam. This landmark ₹1.85 lakh crore project is expected to include the development of 20 GW renewable energy capacities, targeting the production of 1500 TPD Green Hydrogen and 7500 TPD Green derivatives like Methanol, Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. - Railway and Road Infrastructure
PM Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation for railway and road projects worth ₹19,500 crore, including the South Coast Railway Headquarters at Visakhapatnam. These projects aim to reduce congestion, enhance connectivity, and boost regional growth. - Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli
The Bulk Drug Park in Anakapalli district will be established to position Andhra Pradesh as a pharmaceutical hub, generating thousands of jobs and leveraging its proximity to industrial corridors. - Krishnapatnam Industrial Area
The Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) in Tirupati district, under the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, will be developed as a greenfield smart city, attracting ₹10,500 crore in manufacturing investments and creating approximately 1 lakh jobs.
Engagement with Indian Diaspora in Odisha
On January 9, PM Modi will inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention in Bhubaneswar. The convention, themed “Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat,” will host members of the Indian diaspora from over 50 countries.

The PBD Convention, organized in partnership with the Odisha Government, will provide a platform for the diaspora to contribute to India’s developmental journey. - Pravasi Bharatiya Express
PM Modi will flag off the inaugural run of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a tourist train for the diaspora under the Pravasi Teertha Darshan Yojana. The train will depart from Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi and will offer a three-week journey to destinations of cultural and religious significance.
This visit is set to underline India’s commitment to green energy, industrial progress, infrastructure development, and fostering stronger bonds with the Indian diaspora.
