PM Modi Meets Economists Ahead of Union Budget 2025-26

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday engaged with a group of eminent economists and thought leaders at NITI Aayog to discuss key economic strategies ahead of the Union Budget 2025-26. The meeting was held under the theme “Maintaining India’s Growth Momentum at a Time of Global Uncertainty.”

During the interaction, PM Modi emphasized the importance of achieving a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, highlighting the need for a transformative mindset focused on development. He discussed various policy initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth amidst global challenges.

Participants, including Dr. Surjit S Bhalla, Dr. Ashok Gulati, Dr. Sudipto Mundle, Dharmakirti Joshi, Janmejaya Sinha, Madan Sabnavis, Prof. Amita Batra, and Ridham Desai, provided valuable insights on a wide range of topics such as employment generation, skill development, enhancing agricultural productivity, attracting investments, and boosting exports.

The economists also deliberated on navigating the challenges posed by global economic uncertainties and geopolitical tensions, while discussing strategies to attract private investment and mobilize public funds for critical infrastructure projects to support economic development.

This meeting reflects the government’s commitment to harnessing expert advice in shaping policies that align with India’s long-term vision for growth and prosperity.
