PM Modi Hails India Blind Women’s Team for Historic T20 World Cup Triumph

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the Indian blind women’s cricket team for clinching the inaugural Blind Women’s T20 World Cup, calling the achievement a “shining example of teamwork and determination.”

India lifted the maiden title after defeating Nepal by seven wickets in the final at the P Sara Oval in Colombo on Sunday. Bowling first, India restricted Nepal to 114 for 5 and chased down the target with ease, reaching 117 for 3 in just 12 overs to seal a dominant victory.

Taking to his X handle, Modi praised the team’s stellar campaign. “Congratulations to Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team for creating history by winning the inaugural Blind Women’s T20 World Cup! More commendable is the fact that they stayed unbeaten in the series,” he wrote.

The triumph marks a significant milestone for women’s blind cricket in India, boosting the sport’s visibility and inspiring a new generation of athletes.
