Paresh Rawal defends facts in ‘Taj Story’

Paresh Rawal Clarifies: ‘The Taj Story’ Not Aimed at Stirring Hindu-Muslim Divide
Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has clarified that his upcoming film “The Taj Story” is not an attempt to create a Hindu-Muslim controversy but a cinematic presentation based on researched and verified facts about the world-famous monument.

Speaking to reporters, Rawal said the film aims to portray historical truths rather than promote any divisive narrative. “There are no lies in The Taj Story, nor is it an attempt to create a Hindu-Muslim divide. Whatever is shown in the film is backed by research, not fabricated drama,” he stated.

The actor, known for his powerful performances and outspoken nature, emphasized that he was drawn to the script because of its authenticity and depth. “In our cinema, there is a lot of ‘hanky-panky’ and exaggeration. But here, there are only facts. When I read the script, I was impressed by the amount of research that went into it. I even verified some details with friends and found them to be correct,” Rawal explained.

While he refrained from disclosing specific details about the facts portrayed in the movie, Rawal expressed confidence that the film would boost tourism and offer audiences a fresh perspective on the Taj Mahal.

“The Taj Mahal is not just a monument; it’s a symbol that connects India with the world. This film will encourage people to revisit history with curiosity, not controversy,” he added.

Directed by a team of emerging filmmakers, The Taj Story is expected to spark debate and discussion around historical interpretation in Indian cinema, while Paresh Rawal’s portrayal is anticipated to be one of the film’s key highlights.
