Padma Shri Chef Sanjeev Kapoor honoured as Top Agri-Food Pioneer by World Food Prize Foundation

Celebrated Indian chef and Padma Shri awardee Sanjeev Kapoor has been honoured as a Top Agri-Food Pioneer by the World Food Prize Foundation for his remarkable contribution to global food sustainability and innovation.

The prestigious award ceremony took place in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, bringing together global leaders, scientists, policy-makers, and innovators to discuss pressing issues surrounding food security, nutrition, and climate resilience.

The recognition highlights Kapoor’s transformative efforts in promoting healthy, sustainable, and locally driven cuisine, as well as his advocacy for Indian agriculture and the use of nutrient-rich indigenous ingredients.

According to the Foundation, Kapoor’s work has inspired millions to adopt healthier eating habits while also empowering local farmers and strengthening India’s food ecosystem.
