Ola Enters Electric Motorcycle Market with Three New Models

Ride-hailing giant Ola Group has officially entered the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of three new models. The announcement was made at the company’s annual launch event, Sankalp 2024.
The new electric motorcycles will be part of Ola’s Roadster range, comprising the Roadster X, Roadster, and Roadster Pro. The company also teased two additional motorcycle models, hinting at a broader electric two-wheeler portfolio in the future.
Beyond its foray into electric motorcycles, Ola has made several other significant announcements. The company has rebranded its ride-hailing service as Ola Consumer, indicating a broader focus on consumer-centric offerings. Additionally, Ola has formed a partnership with ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) to expand its reach and announced the launch of automated warehousing solutions for quick commerce.
In a bold move, Ola also revealed its plans to develop India’s first indigenously designed and developed family of chips for AI, general computing, and Edge by 2026 under its Krutrim venture.
Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal emphasized the vast potential of the Indian motorcycle market, stating that it accounts for two-thirds of the overall two-wheeler segment. The company’s entry into this space is seen as a strategic move to capitalize on the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country.
