Odisha’s Industrial Boom Sparks Job Growth

Odisha Enters a New Era of Industrialization, Paving the Way for Employment Growth

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is witnessing a new wave of industrialization, aimed at transforming the employment landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Friday. Speaking at a recruitment fair in the capital, where 6,390 people secured jobs across nine state government departments, Majhi emphasized his government’s commitment to job creation and economic growth.

Over the past seven months, the state government has organized six such recruitment drives, providing employment to over 20,000 individuals. Majhi further announced an ambitious target of creating more than 65,000 jobs within the first two years of his administration, reinforcing Odisha’s position as an emerging industrial hub.

Highlighting the success of the Utkarsha Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, the Chief Minister revealed that investment commitments worth Rs. 17 lakh crore have been secured, with the potential to generate 13 lakh jobs. “Our government will not let this opportunity slip away. We are determined to ensure the successful implementation of these investment proposals and the establishment of industries across the state,” Majhi asserted.

Addressing the newly recruited employees, Majhi underscored the expectations of the public from the government and its administration. “You are the key to fulfilling those expectations,” he said, congratulating the recruits and urging them to serve with dedication. He also invoked the blessings of Lord Jagannath, stating that this marks a new beginning in their lives.

Recognizing the importance of skilled and efficient human resources for sustained development, Majhi highlighted his government’s efforts in filling long-vacant positions. To further streamline recruitment, a review meeting was conducted, directing all departments to identify vacancies and accelerate the hiring process by the end of March.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to employment generation, the Chief Minister announced that the state aims to create 1.5 lakh jobs in the public sector alone over the next five years. With a robust industrial policy and strong governance, Odisha is set to embark on a transformative journey, unlocking new opportunities for its youth and workforce.
