Odisha delivered a stunning performance to defeat former champions Goa 2-0, while Delhi maintained their winning streak with another impressive victory in Group B of the 78th Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy on Tuesday.

Rahul Mukhi (60’) and Kartik Hantal (64’) scored for Odisha in quick succession during the second half, bouncing back strongly from their earlier defeat to Delhi.

The first half saw a tight contest between Odisha and Goa, with both teams failing to capitalize on scoring opportunities. However, Odisha emerged stronger after the restart, demonstrating improved intensity and coordination.

Forward Mukhi opened the scoring in the 60th minute, exploiting a defensive lapse by Goa. Played through behind the backline, Mukhi skillfully entered the box and delivered a precise low shot into the bottom corner, giving Odisha a vital lead.

Four minutes later, Kartik Hantal doubled Odisha’s advantage with a clinical finish, ensuring their crucial win and keeping their hopes alive in the championship.

Meanwhile, Delhi showcased consistent form in their group-stage matches, cementing their position as strong contenders for the title.
