Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Friday the approval of a proposal to establish two new Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) hospitals in the state. The new facilities will be located in Keonjhar and Sonepur.

The addition of these hospitals is expected to significantly benefit workers and their families by enhancing access to medical care under the ESI scheme. Chief Minister Majhi highlighted the importance of expanding healthcare services for the workforce, emphasizing that these new hospitals will improve the quality of healthcare available to insured individuals.

Currently, Odisha operates four ESI hospitals and 41 dispensaries across various regions under the ESI scheme. The introduction of these new hospitals aligns with the state government’s ongoing efforts to bolster healthcare infrastructure and ensure comprehensive medical coverage for employees throughout the state.
