Odisha Poised to Become Petrochemical Hub: Union Minister Anupriya Patel
BHUBANESWAR – Union Minister Anupriya Patel announced on Friday that Odisha is on track to emerge as a leading hub in the petrochemical sector, which is anticipated to grow into a USD 1 trillion industry by 2047. Speaking at the “Advanced India: Indian Chemicals and Petrochemicals Paving the Future” conference in Bhubaneswar, Patel highlighted Odisha’s potential, citing its skilled workforce and strategic coastal location as key advantages.
“Odisha is ready to become a leader in the petrochemical sector,” she stated, emphasizing the state’s significant role in the future growth of the industry.
The minister also mentioned the upcoming India Chem 2024 summit, set to take place in Mumbai from October 17-19, which is expected to draw considerable global attention after a two-year break.
