Odisha Sanctions ₹68 Crore for Temple

Odisha Govt Sanctions ₹68 Crore for Tara Tarini Temple Development

In a significant move to promote religious tourism and improve infrastructure, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced a ₹68 crore sanction for the development of the historic Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam district.

During his visit to the 17th-century shrine, situated atop a scenic hill near Purushottampur, the Chief Minister offered prayers to the revered twin goddesses and interacted with temple authorities. He later held a review meeting with the district administration to assess ongoing and planned developmental projects related to the temple.

“The sanctioned amount will be utilized for enhancing facilities for devotees, improving road connectivity, and preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of the temple,” Majhi said.

Tara Tarini Temple is one of the most prominent Shakti Peethas in eastern India and attracts thousands of pilgrims each year. The state government’s decision is expected to boost religious tourism and support the local economy.
