Odisha Launches Campaign to Strengthen Anganwadis

Odisha Deputy CM Launches ‘Aasa Jiba Anganwadi’ Campaign to Strengthen Childcare Services
In a significant push to improve early childhood care and education services, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday launched a fortnight-long campaign titled ‘Aasa Jiba Anganwadi’ to strengthen the infrastructure and service delivery at anganwadi centres across the state.
The campaign, scheduled from August 1 to 15, was inaugurated during a state-level capacity building workshop for Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) in Bhubaneswar. Addressing the gathering, Parida urged citizens to actively participate by visiting their nearest anganwadi centres to assess the quality of services, infrastructure, and cleanliness.
“This campaign is a step towards community-driven monitoring and improvement of anganwadi services. I encourage everyone to visit anganwadis, observe their functioning, and share feedback so we can work together to improve conditions for our children,” said the Deputy CM.
The campaign also aims to promote transparency and encourage public engagement in the functioning of anganwadi centres, which are a key part of the state’s Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme.
Officials said the feedback collected during the fortnight will help identify gaps in service delivery and inform future policy and administrative actions for better child welfare outcomes.
