Odisha Govt Issues Guidelines for ‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ Scheme

The Odisha government has issued guidelines for its newly announced scheme, ‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ (BGBO), aimed at promoting sustainable development in rural areas for inclusive growth.
The BGBO scheme, which replaces the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ (AONO) scheme launched by the previous BJD government, comes with a budgetary provision of ₹1,000 crore for the financial year 2024-25.
The guidelines were issued by Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department Secretary Girish S. N. to district collectors. The announcement was made public on Thursday, highlighting the government’s commitment to rural development.
Under the BGBO scheme, various developmental projects will be undertaken to improve infrastructure, access to basic services, and livelihoods in rural Odisha. The government aims to accelerate growth in the rural economy, focusing on sustainable practices and inclusive development.
