In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Odisha government on Saturday reassigned the portfolios of at least 11 senior officers, according to a notification issued by the General Administration Department.

Chitra Arumugam, currently serving as Special Secretary in the Planning and Convergence Department, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Labour and ESI Department. She will also take on the additional responsibility of Principal Secretary, Science and Technology.

The reshuffle, aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency, is part of the government’s periodic review of senior officials’ postings. Further details regarding the reassigned officers and their new roles are expected to be announced soon.

Such reorganizations are viewed as steps to streamline governance and align resources with the state’s developmental priorities.
