Odisha establishes commission for uniformed recruitment

Odisha to Form Dedicated Recruitment Commission for Police, Uniformed Services
The Odisha government on Friday announced the creation of a dedicated recruitment body — the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) — to oversee appointments in the police and other uniformed services.
The move comes in response to large-scale irregularities detected in the recent recruitment of sub-inspectors, which prompted a CBI investigation. Officials said the new commission will ensure transparency, efficiency and accountability in the hiring process for various uniformed posts.
The decision was approved during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar. The government stated that the OUSSSC will help eliminate procedural gaps and restore public confidence in recruitment to critical security and enforcement roles.
