Odisha Crime Branch Completes Polygraph Tests of Cops in Army Officer Torture Case
The Crime Branch of Odisha Police has completed polygraph tests on five suspended police personnel in connection with the alleged torture of an army officer and the sexual assault of his fiancée while in custody. The update was provided to the judicial commission, led by Justice C.R. Dash, overseeing the investigation into the case.
The incident, which took place on September 15 at Bharatpur Police Station in Bhubaneswar, involved the army officer and his fiancée visiting the station to file a road rage complaint. However, they were allegedly subjected to physical abuse, with the fiancée reportedly being sexually assaulted.
In addition to the polygraph tests, the Crime Branch informed the commission that brain mapping and narco-analysis tests of the former Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Bharatpur Police Station, Dinakrushna Mishra, were conducted in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The judicial inquiry is ongoing, and further action will depend on the test results and evidence collected during the investigation. The case has sparked widespread outrage, with demands for stringent action against those involved.
