Odisha CM visits Statue of Equality

CM pays tribute to Sri Ramanujacharya, releases Odia bhajan at Statue of Equality
Bhubaneswar, Dec 20 : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday paid rich tributes to Jagadguru Sri Ramanujacharya, the revered philosopher, saint and social reformer, by offering prayers at the iconic Statue of Equality in Hyderabad.
Accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior officials, the Chief Minister visited the statue, which commemorates the life and teachings of Sri Ramanujacharya, known for advocating equality, compassion and social harmony.
During the visit, the delegation met Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimanta Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji and held discussions on India’s spiritual traditions, inclusive philosophy and the contemporary relevance of Sri Ramanujacharya’s teachings. Sri Sri Jeeyar Swamiji extended his blessings to the Chief Minister and wished peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Odisha.
As part of the programme, Chief Minister Majhi released an Odia bhajan on Sri Ramanujacharya, authored by Sri Sri Tridandi Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji. The devotional song seeks to familiarise Odia devotees with the life, philosophy and spiritual message of Sri Ramanujacharya, strengthening Odisha’s cultural and spiritual links with India’s civilisational heritage.
Sharing his experience, Majhi said the Statue of Equality is not only a magnificent symbol of India’s spiritual legacy but also a powerful reminder of the timeless values of social justice, inclusiveness and human dignity championed by Sri Ramanujacharya. He added that these ideals continue to inspire Odisha’s vision of balanced development, social harmony and people-centric governance.
The visit, the Chief Minister said, reaffirmed Odisha’s deep respect for India’s spiritual heritage and its commitment to upholding the principles of equality, wisdom and harmony in public life, inspired by the enduring teachings of Sri Ramanujacharya.
