Odisha CM Sanctions ₹5 Lakh for Girl’s Treatment, House for Family

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday sanctioned ₹5 lakh for the treatment of a girl suffering from a rare disease and approved a house for her family under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Majhi made the announcement during a ‘grievance hearing’ in Bhubaneswar, responding to an appeal from the family of Pratyusha Giri, a resident of Boudh district.
He directed the Boudh district collector to immediately provide ₹5 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to support the girl’s medical expenses. Additionally, he instructed the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department to ensure the family receives a house under the central housing scheme.
The move has been widely appreciated, with locals and public representatives lauding the chief minister’s prompt response. Officials have assured swift implementation of the directives.
Pratyusha’s family had approached the government seeking assistance for her treatment, citing financial constraints. The chief minister’s intervention is expected to provide much-needed relief.
Further details on the girl’s condition and the treatment plan are awaited.
