Odisha CM Meets Mamata Banerjee in Delhi to Address Potato Crisis
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss the ongoing issues related to the supply of potatoes from West Bengal to Odisha.
Majhi sought Banerjee’s intervention to resolve the crisis caused by the “stoppage” of potato supplies, which has significantly affected the availability of this staple food in Odisha.
The meeting took place as both leaders were in the national capital to attend the Governing Council meeting of the NITI Aayog. During their discussion, Majhi emphasized the importance of a steady potato supply for Odisha and urged Banerjee to take necessary steps to ensure the resumption of shipments from West Bengal.
The potato crisis has been a pressing issue in Odisha, leading to concerns over food security and pricing. By seeking Banerjee’s assistance, Majhi aims to alleviate the supply chain disruption and stabilize the market for this essential commodity.
The outcome of their discussion is expected to have significant implications for both states, as they work together to address and resolve the potato supply issue efficiently.
