Odisha CM Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for 14 Industrial Projects Worth Rs 5,770 Crore
Bhubaneswar, Apr 3 : In a significant step towards industrial growth, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 14 industrial projects across various sectors. These projects, with a cumulative investment of Rs 5,770 crore, are set to create over 37,030 employment opportunities in the state.
According to official sources, the projects will be established at the newly developed Industrial Estate Haldipada, Industrial Estate Mundamba, and Khordha Textile Park, Kalibeti. The diverse sectors covered in these projects include food processing, textiles, apparel & technical textiles, mechanical and electrical capital goods, packaging, and refractory industries.
Leading national and international companies such as Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited, Polimiroir India Private Limited, Shalimar Glass Works Private Limited, and IFGL Refractories Limited are participating in this initiative, reinforcing Odisha’s reputation as an emerging industrial hub.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Majhi highlighted the significance of these projects, stating, “These projects are more than just industrial units; they serve as growth engines for Odisha, employment generators for our youth, and crucial milestones in our journey towards a Samrudh Odisha (Prosperous Odisha). We are committed to building a state that is productive, inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive.”
Odisha Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain reaffirmed the government’s commitment to industrial infrastructure development, skill enhancement, and regional industrial diversification. “With new industrial parks, modernized ITIs, and global partnerships in skilling and next-generation manufacturing, Odisha is poised to lead an industrial resurgence in Purvodaya (Eastern India’s industrial growth),” he stated.
The event also marked key milestones, including the groundbreaking ceremony for Nestlé India’s Mega Food Factory at Haldiapada Industrial Park and the inauguration of Varun Beverages Ltd.’s state-of-the-art production facility. The Chief Minister also visited the under-construction Trimetro Garments India Pvt. Ltd. (EPIC Group) facility at Khordha Textile Park and laid the foundation stone for workers’ hostel facilities to support apparel cluster development.
Additionally, the Chief Minister launched new industrial hubs such as Haldiapada Industrial Estate and Khordha One, underscoring the government’s efforts to strengthen industrial infrastructure and attract global investment.
With world-class infrastructure, deep-draft ports, and investor-friendly policies, Odisha continues to emerge as a strategic trade and investment hub in eastern India. The government’s proactive measures in industrial development reaffirm its commitment to boosting economic growth and positioning Odisha as a preferred destination for global supply chains.
