Odisha CM Calls for Timely Completion of Irrigation Projects
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed the Water Resources department officers to ensure the timely completion of ongoing irrigation projects. During a meeting with top officials on Monday, Majhi emphasized the critical importance of these projects for the state’s agricultural sector.
The Chief Minister instructed the department to manage water resources efficiently, particularly during the delayed monsoon period. He also urged the officials to remain prepared for potential flood situations during the upcoming monsoon season.
“The improvement of farmers’ status in the state is a top priority for our government,” Majhi stated. “The Water Resources department has a pivotal role in ensuring water availability for farmers,” he added.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) reiterated Majhi’s commitment to advancing agricultural productivity and ensuring that the irrigation infrastructure meets the needs of the farming community.
These directives come at a crucial time as the state anticipates the monsoon, which is essential for both irrigation and drinking water supply. The meeting underscored the government’s proactive approach to water resource management and its dedication to the welfare of Odisha’s farmers.
