Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced significant benefits for havildars, constables, and sepoys under the state police during the 45th annual convention of the Havildar, Constable, and Sepoy Mahasangh in Cuttack on Monday.

In a major move, the Chief Minister declared that these personnel would receive an additional month’s salary. Additionally, the motorcycle allowance, formerly known as the bicycle allowance, will be increased from ₹300 to ₹1,000.

To further address the demands of the association, Majhi announced a substantial hike in the uniform allowance, including shoes, doubling it from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000.

“These steps aim to acknowledge the tireless efforts of our police personnel who ensure the safety and security of our state,” Majhi said during his address.

The announcement has been widely welcomed by police personnel, who expressed gratitude for the government’s recognition of their service.
