Odisha Tightens Security Along Coastline, Vital Installations

In response to the growing security concerns following the military conflict between India and Pakistan, Odisha has stepped up its security measures, particularly along its coastline and around key installations. The state police confirmed on Saturday that they have implemented unprecedented security arrangements to safeguard vital sites, including defense and public infrastructure.

The move follows statements by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who revealed that there is an ongoing threat from the sea due to the heightened military tensions between the two nations. As a precautionary measure, the police have intensified patrolling along the state’s coastline and around critical locations such as the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Hirakud Dam in Sambalpur, Paradip Port in Jagatsinghpur, and the Ordinance Factory in Bolangir district.

The Odisha Police also shared an update on social media, saying, “The Indian Army is conducting Operation Sindoor and has issued a high alert. In this context, the state police is patrolling day and night to ensure the security of the coast of Odisha.”

These enhanced security protocols are part of Odisha’s broader effort to ensure the safety of its citizens and vital infrastructure amidst the escalating border tensions. The state is working closely with central authorities, including the Indian Army, Navy, and other security agencies, to maintain a vigilant and responsive security apparatus.
