Odisha BJP Government Appoints New Collectors for 20 Districts
In a significant administrative shake-up, the BJP government in Odisha has appointed new collectors for 20 out of the state’s 30 districts. This move marks one of the first major bureaucratic changes since the BJP assumed power in June.
The reshuffle includes the reassignment of several bureaucrats who were originally appointed during the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) administration. Notably, Smruti Ranjan Pradhan, previously serving as the collector of Gajapati, has been transferred to the position of collector in Kendrapara.
The notification detailing these changes was issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department late Wednesday night. This restructuring is expected to realign district-level administration with the new government’s policies and priorities.
The appointment of new collectors is part of the BJP’s broader strategy to implement its agenda and enhance governance efficiency across the state. The reorganization reflects the party’s commitment to adapting administrative structures in line with its political and developmental goals.
