Odisha Assigns Senior IAS Officers to Supervise Welfare Measures in Districts

In a significant move aimed at improving the implementation of welfare measures, the Odisha government has assigned one senior IAS officer to oversee each of the state’s 30 districts. This initiative is part of the state’s strategy to ensure that important government schemes and programmes reach the people effectively and efficiently.
Development Commissioner Anu Garg issued a circular outlining the new directive to senior IAS officers. The circular encourages each officer to visit their designated district at least once every two months, spending a minimum of two days and one night at the district or sub-divisional headquarters. During these visits, the officers will be responsible for supervising the execution of government welfare measures, ensuring public services are delivered in an optimal manner.
The initiative is expected to enhance the oversight of welfare schemes, ensuring that they are implemented as intended, benefiting the people of Odisha. This move reflects the state’s commitment to improving governance and ensuring that welfare measures are not only effectively implemented but also properly monitored.
