Odisha Cabinet Approves ₹108 Cr for Anandapur Barrage Project
The Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Wednesday approved a budget of ₹108 crore for the construction of the integrated Anandapur Barrage Project in Keonjhar district. The decision was part of a broader approval of six major proposals across five departments.
The Anandapur Barrage Project, under the Water Resources Department, is set to enhance irrigation facilities across Keonjhar and Balasore districts. According to Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, the project aims to irrigate 60,000 hectares of farmland, significantly boosting agricultural productivity and improving water management in the region.
The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of farmers, ensuring water availability during critical farming seasons and contributing to the overall rural development agenda of the state.
