Odisha Announces 10% Reservation for Agniveers in State Services
The Odisha government has introduced a 10 percent reservation for Agniveers in the state’s uniformed services, alongside a five-year age relaxation, effective immediately. This announcement was made on Friday by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi before he departed for Delhi to attend the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on Saturday.
Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the significance of Agniveers, stating, “Our soldiers are our pride. Agniveers, who are trained by our defense forces, are well-qualified to serve the nation in various security-related sectors.” The new policy aims to integrate Agniveers into state services, recognizing their skills and experience gained through military training.
The decision reflects Odisha’s commitment to supporting veterans and leveraging their expertise for public service roles. This initiative is expected to enhance the career prospects of Agniveers and contribute to the state’s security and administrative capabilities.
