Nuapada Bypoll to Be Held on November 11, Results on November 14
The Election Commission of India on Monday announced that the by-election to the Nuapada Assembly constituency in Odisha will be conducted on November 11.
Addressing a press conference, Odisha Chief Electoral Officer R S Gopalan informed that the counting of votes will take place on November 14, and results will be declared the same day.
He said that a formal gazette notification for the bypoll will be issued on October 13, marking the official start of the election process.
The by-election was necessitated following the vacancy of the Nuapada seat, though the Election Commission has not yet disclosed the exact reason in its announcement.
With the date now confirmed, political parties in Odisha are gearing up to field their candidates, and the constituency is expected to witness a keen triangular contest among the BJP, BJD, and Congress.
The bypoll will be conducted under the supervision of the Election Commission, with strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, which has come into force in the district from the date of the announcement.
