NTPC Western Region–I Partners with GCRI to Upgrade Radiotherapy Services

NTPC Limited – Western Region–I (WR–I) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI) to enhance radiotherapy services at the Siddhpur Satellite Centre, Ahmedabad. Under this CSR initiative, NTPC has sanctioned ₹23.16 crore for the procurement and installation of a high-energy Linear Accelerator (LINAC), aimed at improving access to advanced cancer treatment in the region.

The MoA was exchanged between Dr. Shashank Pandya, Director of GCRI, and Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (West–I) of NTPC, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

The signing ceremony saw participation from key NTPC WR–I officials, including Shri Akhaya Kumar Patra, GM (OS), Shri A P Samal, CEO (NPUNL) & CGM (Nuclear), and Smt. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head of HR (West–I), along with members of the CSR team. Senior representatives from GCRI were also present.

This initiative reinforces NTPC’s commitment to inclusive development and its focus on strengthening critical healthcare infrastructure through impactful CSR interventions, ensuring improved quality and accessibility of radiotherapy services for patients in the region.
