Nine Fishermen Rescued from Tidal Waves Near Paradip, Odisha
In a successful rescue operation, the Odisha Fisheries Department, with the assistance of the Indian Coast Guard, safely rescued nine fishermen who were stranded near the Mahanadi River mouth for more than two hours on Friday. The incident occurred where the Mahanadi River meets the Bay of Bengal, near Paradip.
According to officials, the fishermen’s boat had become trapped by strong tidal waves, leaving them in a precarious situation. Responding swiftly to the emergency, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) instructed the Fisheries & Animal Resource Development Department and the Coast Guard in Paradip to take immediate action to ensure the safe return of the fishermen.
The rescue operation was carried out smoothly, and all nine fishermen were brought back to shore without any injuries. An official from the SRC office confirmed the success of the operation, highlighting the coordinated efforts between the local authorities and the Coast Guard in securing the lives of those at risk.
